  • What does it cost to sign up with Prompt Medical Billing?
  • There is no sign-up or setup fees.
  • What does PMB charge for services?
  • We collect on a percentage basis of total amount collected each month.  An invoice is then sent at the end of the month. We don’t get paid until you get paid!
  • Do I have to purchase software?
  • No. We do the billing through our own software.
  • How long does it take to set up an account with PMB?
  • We need to notify all the insurance carriers that your practice will be billing through PMB. This process can take 2-3 weeks, depending on the insurance.
  • What is needed from our office to process claims?
  • Patient demographic sheet, copy of front/back of insurance card for each new patient (one time only), superbills/daysheets.
  • What is the turnaround time to process claims?
  • Once claims are received, it takes 2-3 days to enter them into the system and send them out to the insurances.
  • When does PMB start tracking unpaid claims?
  • Normal processing time for most insurance companies is 30-45 days. However, we start checking claim status after 30 days.
  • Where is the correspondence sent?
  • Explanation of benefits, insurance payments and patient payments are send directly to your office. We require copies of all correspondence in order to post everything in a timely manner.
  • Where can the patients call with inquiries about their bills?
  • They can contact us directly. They do not have to call your office, we will handle all inquiries for you.
  • Can we view our practice data online?
  • Yes, we can provide instant Interned-based access via secured login and password.
  • How do we get our financial reports?
  • We provide bi-monthly reports of various data via fax, email or messenger service. You can also generate your own report at any time once you access your data. All information is HIPAA compliant and kept strictly confidential.
